Synchrologic Offers Mobile Systems Management
for BlackBerry

Synchrologic's iMobile Suite 4.1 decreases total cost of ownership of BlackBerry Wireless Handhelds

ATLANTA, Ga., December 4, 2001 - Managing and supporting the multitude of handhelds that have penetrated the enterprise can be a daunting task for IT administrators due to the remote nature of these devices. To alleviate this problem, Synchrologic today announced it has added Research In Motion's (RIM's) (NASDAQ: RIMM) popular BlackBerryTM Wireless Handhelds to its expansive list of supported mobile computing devices. Synchrologic's iMobile Systems Management, the mobile systems management component of iMobile Suite, also supports laptops, Palm OS®, Windows® CE, and Pocket PC handheld devices and smartphones.

Enterprise network administrators can now remotely troubleshoot problems by determining the current state of each BlackBerry handheld. With iMobile Systems Management, IT administrators can manage BlackBerry models 957, 950, 857 and 850 through iMobile Suite's central administration console. Administrators can track pertinent information about these mobile assets such as memory, device location, signal strength and connection information, operating system, serial number, alert configurations or battery capacity. iMobile Systems Management also determines which software and databases are installed on the device and reports the version number and size of applications.

"The majority of office productivity workers will carry or own at least three mobile devices forcing IS organizations to support multiple device operating-system platforms," said Ronni Colville, research director, Gartner, Inc. "Enterprises should choose mobile management products that focus on both notebooks and handhelds. Additionally, solutions providers must be able to address the ever-changing landscape of the end user."

"With growing success of BlackBerry in the enterprise market, we have extended our systems management capabilities to help enterprises lower the total cost of ownership of these handhelds," said Bill Jones, vice president of products for Synchrologic. "As the pioneer of one single integrated mobile infrastructure solution, Synchrologic continues to provide companies the ability to manage all their mobile devices and data with a single solution, versus bundled piece meal solutions."

About iMobile Systems Management

iMobile Systems Management is part of Synchrologic's iMobile Suite, a comprehensive enterprise mobile infrastructure software that mobilizes enterprise applications while providing the tools necessary to remotely manage occasionally connected devices. iMobile Systems Management complements LAN-based systems management tools by compensating for irregular connections, low bandwidth, and frequent line drops. iMobile Systems Management decreases total cost of ownership of mobile devices by capturing device inventory data and allowing for remote software installation and upgrades.

The product can be purchased as a separate component or as part of iMobile Suite. iMobile Suite 4.1 will be available at the end of 4th quarter 2001.
