Synchrologic Introduces Mobile Solutions for Small and Midsize Businesses

Small, Midsize Business Program offers increased employee productivity, reduced communications costs, easy integration and implementation, top level support

ATLANTA, April 16, 2002 - Analysts predict that by 2006 over half of the global workforce will be mobile and that more than 60% of these mobile workers will be employed by small or midsize businesses (SMBs). To meet the special needs of the SMB market, SynchrologicTM today introduced its strategic offering -- the Synchrologic Mid-Market Program -- to deliver best-of-breed technology for mobile and wireless access to Email, Calendar and other PIM information on Pocket PC, Windows CE or Palm OS devices. Synchrologic's offering is designed to help SMBs gain competitive advantage while addressing the unique challenges faced by small and midsize companies.

The Synchrologic Mid-market Program helps companies gain the competitive advantage by giving employees the tools to read and respond to emails at anytime or anywhere through wireless access to Microsoft® Exchange or Lotus DominoTM servers on handheld devices. The program includes:

  • Specially packaged software for synchronizing Email & PIM data to handheld devices including systems management capabilities for quick implementation and deployment and administrative tools that minimize support requirements.
  • No cost, 30-day evaluation of the software that can be downloaded from Synchrologic's Web site at www.synchrologic.com/demo/midmarket.html
  • Unlimited email technical support with guaranteed response times during the evaluation period.
  • Flexible support packages for post-purchase support.
  • Customer self service through Synchrologic's online Knowledge Center.

Companies realize a rapid return on investment through a quick and easy installation process that minimizes disruption to daily business and leverages existing skill sets. Additionally, wireless optimizations minimize communications expense while ensuring delivery of information over popular networks such as CDMA, CDPD, GSM or through 802.11b wireless LANs.

Global executive search firm Ray & Berndtson needed to provide wireless email to 150 of its representatives who are continually out of the office with clients or placement candidates. Rick Rawlings, the company's IS director said, "Synchrologic makes a complete, well-developed product that snapped right into our Exchange server. It gives our reps access to email and contacts on their Pocket PC's while they are in a regional office, a cab, or about to walk into an interview with a job candidate. It requires little or no configuration by the user. This makes it easy for employees and international affiliates since they may not have a lot of technical know-how." Rawlings added, "We can extend our Exchange data to them over the Internet, and then manage those devices remotely. The overall deployment of the solution was quick and we plan to roll out the solution to additional users as needed."

The software product offered through The Synchrologic Mid-Market Program is a module within iMobile SuiteTM. Other modules in the suite include software, file and Web site distribution and data synchronization which mobilizes any company application such as inventory collection, mortgage or insurance quoting applications, or sales force database information such as information in Access, MSDE or SQL Anywhere databases. This approach helps companies start a mobile initiative with Email & PIM synchronization and later implement other capabilities as the need arises.

"The SMB market generally prefers integrated application suites offered as a set of modules, picking and choosing what it wants to use and pay for," said Mika Krammer, Research Director, Small and Mid Enterprise Group, Gartner, Inc. "SMB budgets and tactical nature will almost always push the companies toward products and services they can buy in modules, are easy to integrate with existing technologies and easy to implement."
