Enterprise Synchronization Components Available for Sybase Products

ATLANTA (Oct. 29, 1997) -- Synchrologic Inc. (www.synchrologic.com), the leading developer of data synchronization software, now offers enterprise synchronization components for Sybase, Inc. (Nasdaq: SYBS) products. Using Synchrologic's SyncKit™, companies using Sybase's Adaptive Server Enterprise 11.5 and future versions, as well as any Sybase's System 11 products, including Sybase SQL Anywhere and Sybase SQL Server Professional for Windows NT, can support the development of mobile and remote applications.

Synchrologic has been accepted into Sybase's CODE (Cooperative Open Development Environment) Partner Program. Synchrologic will demonstrate SyncKit's capabilities in the Sybase booth (#L4652) at the Fall Comdex show Nov. 17-21 in Las Vegas.

SyncKit is Synchrologic's core remote database component which allows bi-directional synchronization of data between the server and client database. Without requiring modification of the database schema or application, SyncKit synchronizes changes made by occasionally-connected workers with the central corporate database. Driven by a sophisticated rules-based system, SyncKit handles enterprise systems and features a complete set of administration and integration tools.

"Sybase is pleased to have an innovator like Synchrologic as one of our CODE Partners," said John Wardley, Manager of Business and Alliance Programs for Sybase. "Developers working with our Adaptive Server and System 11 families of database software and PowerBuilder developer tools will find SyncKit to be a very efficient method for synchronizing data for mobile workers or remote applications."

Synchronizing data between the host and mobile/remote users is a complex problem that can consume 20 to 50 percent of a company's applications development budget. Now, Sybase SQL Anywhere developers can synchronize directly with Sybase, Oracle (Nasdaq: ORCL), Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT) SQL Server, IBM (NYSE: IBM) DB2 or other enterprise-class databases, and Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprise 11.5 developers can synchronize directly with Microsoft Access.

Synchrologic's developers have more than 75 years of experience in building synchronization solutions, with an emphasis in the sales automation market. The company is establishing a network of solution providers who will work with Synchrologic components to build solutions for their customers.
