SYNCHROLOGIC TO SUPPORT SYNCML DEVICE MANAGEMENT STANDARD

Company plans to leverage SyncML within iMobile Suite for asset collection on mobile devices; participates in 2002 SyncML Congress

ATLANTA, Ga., December 18, 2001 - Many IT organizations are realizing the pain of managing and supporting the proliferation of handheld devices. To ease this problem, Synchrologic announces it will comply with the Device Management Protocol standard recently announced by the SyncML Initiative. The open, universal industry standard for remote device management of occasionally connected mobile devices will be finalized next year. At that time, the standard will be adopted by Synchrologic's iMobile Systems Management adding to the product's flexibility and control to remotely manage handheld devices such as laptops, Palm OS®, Windows® CE, Pocket PC, and RIM Blackberry® and smart phones, thereby lowering total cost of ownership.

"The SyncML Initiative is very pleased to see companies like Synchrologic make a strategic commitment to the open SyncML Device Management specification." said Douglas Heintzman, chairman of the SyncML Initiative. "Interoperable device management products based on conformant standards in the marketplace will unlock tremendous potential and allow for the evolution of powerful new business models."

Bill Jones, vice president of products for Synchrologic, commented, "Our customers value initiatives that make their lives easier. The SyncML Initiative to standardize device management protocol is an important program to meet that need for businesses especially as mobile phones become more data capable. Our support of this initiative will further our growing position as the preferred mobile systems management provider in the market today."

Jones will be speaking at the SyncML Congress 2002 focusing on ways to extend the value of SyncML throughout the enterprise. The conference will take place in Amsterdam from January 28-30, 2002.
